SRG Global’s Asset Remediation division completed a significant bridge strengthening project for the Department of Transport Victoria at the Glenferrie Road Bridge over the Caulfield Railway Lines. This 110-year-old bridge required extensive upgrades to support heavier vehicles and all classes of trams. Our work involved demolishing the existing footpath, constructing a new bridge deck, and reinstating the road with upgraded tram tracks.
The core of the project was executed during a ten-day shutdown, which saw a full road closure. During this period, our team operated around the clock to remove and replace the road surface and tram tracks. Meticulous planning, preparation, and close coordination with key stakeholders, including the Department of Transport (Victoria), Yarra Trams, City of Stonington, and Metro Trains Melbourne, were crucial to delivering the project successfully within the constrained timeframe.
